George, George, George...

Up in the Air...sexy Mr. Clooney, we are searching for a handsome man who is lonely, slightly jaded, & has a life goal of reaching so many frequent flier miles they name a plane after him. Are you available?

George plays Ryan Bingham, a man who travels for a living visiting cities all over for the sole purpose of firing someone. He has a beige apartment he barely lives in, no real relationships, and his life is filled with tiny travel sized everything. We meet him when he is introduced to his future replacement...a skype kind of firing tool so the hatchet men do not have to fly around the country anymore thus making Ryan plant his feet on the ground. This tool is brought to us by Natalie played by Anna Kendrick. Ryan takes Natalie on the road with him to show her exactly what he does and prove that her method of cutting staff is not going to work.

Along the way he meets Alex...a beautiful woman who travels amost as much as he does played by Vera Farmiga. During the course of the movie he falls in love a little with the idea of setting down roots and spending his life with her. But life has other plans.

The movie was intelligent and the storyline was original. I didn't enjoy it as much as I think I should have. It was interesting enough to hold my attention but not intruiging enough to make me want to go back for more.
